As one of the top executive saloons, the Lexus IS is constantly being changed to compete at the high end of a competitive sector, and as with many models, has recently been adapted and updated for 2017.
With changes to the exterior and interior design, the inner workings and safety systems have also been tweaked to ensure that the IS is maintained as one of the best performing and reliable vehicles on the road.
Many of the exterior changes are applied to the front aspect of the car, with the easily-recognisable spindle grille now mounted slightly higher for a sportier appearance and implies a lower centre of gravity. New multi-spoke alloys are also fitted to provide an improved design, while the headlights have been altered to an L-shaped triple alignment, with the top end models using high luminosity LEDs.
Inside, Lexus has added the latest 10.25-inch premium navigation system and a more premium feel to the switches and interior fittings. With a more luxury feel than before, the IS feels more comfortable and an even nicer place to be than before. New colour options are also available for the interior to make it feel even more personal.
To help offer a more dynamic performance, Lexus has altered the front and rear suspension to ensure you have better control, rear-wheel traction and stability in a straight line. New settings for the dampers, shock absorbers and anti-roll bars aid the vehicle's performance through cornering and also for comfort during normal driving.
In terms of new safety equipment, Safety System+ has been added as standard to all Lexus vehicles, which uses cameras and radar sensors for better all-around vision. Autonomous braking has also been added to aid you in hazardous situations. The additional sway warning ensures that if the driver appears to be distracted or not responding, the car alerts the driver to stop as soon as possible and rest.
The 2017 Lexus IS starts from £29,995 in the 300h SE trim, and for more information on the model, contact your nearest Inchcape Lexus Centre.
