Lexus’s brand new LC sports car was displayed in the UK for the first time at the world renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed at the end of June.
Hosted in the grounds of Goodwood House in Sussex, the Festival is the ideal place to show off this brand new stylish model, which has garnered popular acclaim from critics and journalists alike after it broke cover in this year’s Detroit Motor Show.
A V8-powered LC 500 made an appearance in the ‘First Glance’ category on the famous hill climb, with Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Mike Conway, American racing driver Scott Pruett and former F1 driver Alex Wurz sharing duties behind the driving seat.
The LC was part of a team of Lexus cars on the hill climb including the RC F GT3 race car, RC F GT Concept, the 2017 GS F and the LFA supercar.
This new flagship coupe will be released with both petrol and hybrid power, as is the Lexus way, with the LC 500 powered by the V8 petrol paired with a 10-speed automatic – a world first – and the hybrid-powered LC 500h fitted with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol and Lexus’s brand new Multi Stage Hybrid System, which has been engineered to give more a responsive and high quality performance.
The new LC will be built on the all-new GA-L platform that has been designed to offer better handling and a stable and refined driving performance.
