Ahead of its production, Lexus are set to launch a new model range of the GS F in light of the history of the GS range.
The new Lexus GS F range is aiming to deliver a new high performance based on the previous GS models. The GS F is viewed as an entirely different branch within the full GS model range as the unique features along with its exceptional performance that the GS F provides, it has received its own space within the Lexus line up.
The GS F will be available equipped with a 5.0 litre V8 engine with 470bhp, as found in the RC F coupe. With the power that the 2016 GS F provides, it will impress by hitting 62mph from a standstill in just 4.4 seconds. Plus the advanced saloon weighs in at 1830kg, around 100kg lighter than a BMW M5.
The engine is connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with the option of paddle shifters. Also improved from the regular GS platform is the chassis, with structural reinforcements and a unique suspension setup which has been developed to fine tune the driving dynamics.
Extremely similar to the RC F, it will also feature a Torque Vectoring Differential. That is an electronic system that feeds power into two electric motors that can then efficiently distribute torque between the rear wheels when powering through turns. It is said that the Lexus GS F will easily match the RC F coupe’s performance, the only difference of the two being the style and the option of both two and four doors.
