Toyota Motor Europe vice president, Alain Uyttenhoven, believes the recently released Lexus NX will become the Japanese marques best-selling model and will contribute to a marked improvement in the firm’s European performance.
The Lexus NX, changing the game

Speaking to Motoring Research during a UK briefing, Uyttenhoven said, “It could be a game changer. “

“It is bringing new customers to us – different customers to those normally drawn to the brand.”

UK director, Richard Balshaw, is buoyed by early interest in the NX, “We have had 10,000 ‘hand-raiser’ expressions of interest and we have 800 firm order before anyone has had a test drive.”

Adding, “It is our most successful pre-launch ever.”

Uyttenhoven believes it’s the NX’s stylish looks that will pull in the customers, ““Lexus only has a chance [in the premium sector] if it stands out…we are thus moving away from the corner of rational arguments into the territory of emotion.”

Lexus believe the NX is the most driver-friendly model they have ever produced.

The new crossover will feature not only a state of the art hybrid engine, advanced safety and handling systems, but also a number of technological features designed to make the driving experience as enjoyable as possible.

A touchpad infotainment interface and a premium surround sound system, designed with renowned audio specialist Mark Levinson, are also included.

Passengers will be able to recharge their mobile phones and other compatible electronic devices just by placing them in a charging tray located between the front two seats – removing the need for cumbersome connection cables.

The tray comes as standard with the F Sport and Premier trims and is available as an optional upgrade on the NX 300h Luxury.

Top of the range NX 300h Premier will feature Lexus’s first 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor.

Both inside and out, the NX will utilise LEDs to increase safety, visibility and perceived quality with up to 90 LEDs being used in the external lights alone.

All trim levels come equipped with LED low-beam headlights, daytime running lights, fog lights and rear lamp clusters, as well as courtesy lights in the door handles.

Prices for the NX start at £29,495; for more information on Lexus, contact us today!
