This year’s Driver Power survey proved once again that Lexus is a very popular and well-loved brand in the UK. Lexus won three awards and was named as Britain’s fourth favourite car brand overall.
Autoexpress’ Driver Power satisfaction survey asks drivers to vote for their personal favourite features of cars, categories include, performance and handling to running costs and even seat comfort.
Lexus was expected to perform well, so it was no surprise that the brand ranked as the fourth best overall brand.
The categories it collected awards from, were for reliability, build quality and in-car technology. Given the brand’s mantra, of creating a range that is modern and forward-thinking while delivering luxury and performance, these are fitting accolades for the maker.
Lexus has recently dipped its toe into the fast-growing premium compact crossover market with the NX Crossover, which was revealed at the Beijing Motor Show earlier this month.
The model is intended to appeal to a new market of Lexus buyers, those who lead urban, active lifestyles as the NX Crossover has been designed to suit daily life driving needs alongside active weekend activities.
Powering the Lexus NX Crossover is a range of three powertrains, an efficient hybrid NX 300h featuring a 2.0-litre petrol turbo unit NX 200t and a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol NX 200.
Each of the engine iterations will be available in either front or all-wheel-drive versions, boosting the range’s performance. All engines are also available with Lexus’ quick-response stop and start system, helping to improve fuel economy.
The NX Crossover range includes a distinctive F Sport version, which has a sporty design and styling elements. These include a rendering of the Lexus spindle grille, a lowered front bumper, specific alloy wheel designs, sports seats and bespoke interior trims.
Drivers of the NX Crossover will benefit from Lexus’ attention to technology as the model includes the first application of a new Lexus Remote Touch Interface with a touchpad control.
Other features include a new Panoramic View Monitor, head-up display, blind spot monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
