Lexus is launching a competition for its supporters to find a name for the new paint colour for its RC F Coupe model.
One of the hottest new performance cars of the coming year, the Lexus RC F Coupe is doused in a vibrant new orange metallic paint colour option.
All that is missing from completing the RC F Coupe’s package, is a stand-out name for the paint colour, which is where the brand is looking for some help.
The Japanese car brand has recognised that the RC F is one of the most talked-about new models on social media and so is taking the colour-naming competition online.
A UK-based competition, the Lexus UK Facebook page has invited fans to put forward their suggestions, which will be judged and the best will be adopted as the official branding for the new colour.
Lexus Division Director, Richard Balshaw, said: “We’ve witnessed a fantastic response to the prospect of the new model among our large and growing community of online fans and we thought it would be a great opportunity to involve them in the heart of the branding process.”
So far the paint colour is just being referred to as a flaming orange hue, with Lexus saying that it is an excellent addition to the RC F Coupe paint colour range.
Earlier this year the Lexus RC F was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show revealing a striking visual appearance, supported by impressive performance.
Powered by a specifically-designed 5.0-litre 32-valve V8 engine, the RC F’s unit can produce over 450bhp and 520Nm worth of torque.
It has been engineered to switch between different operating cycles, to balance out its cruising efficiency and sustain a high level of driver satisfaction at high performance.
The Lexus RC F is due to arrive in the UK in 2015, meanwhile it is making a big impact in the racing world, securing podium finishes in this year’s Japanese Super GT series.
