The Lexus IS has been revealed as a major sponsor for the Channel 4 period drama show, The Mill.
The show is based on the true stories of textile mill workers at the Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire during Britain’s Industrial Revolution in the 1800s.
The second series of the drama TV show started last week. As each new episode is being broadcast, adverts for the Lexus IS will be shown to viewers during commercial breaks.
The Lexus IS saloon is a compact four-door executive car currently on sale in the UK, priced from £26,495. The IS range rivals similar sized models from other premium manufacturers, such as the BMW 3 Series, the Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
To power the Lexus IS, customers have the choice of either a 204bhp V6 petrol engine, or a hybrid powertrain combining a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol with an electric motor.
The hybrid version of the IS delivers 217bhp and a CO2 emissions output from just 99g/km. Such a low CO2 output figure allows the Lexus IS to be exempt from paid Vehicle Excise Duty (also known as Road Tax).
The Lexus IS saloon not only looks sport but also has sharp, well-weighted steering and strong brakes to deliver a fun driving experience.
There are currently four trim levels on offer in the Lexus IS range, including ‘SE’, ‘Luxury’, ‘F Sport’ and ‘Premium’.
Standard equipment for the executive saloon is plentiful. Included is climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control and heated mirrors. On higher trim levels you can get extra luxuries in the IS including a DVD player, parking sensors, satellite navigation and leather trim for the seating.
When choosing the Premium trim level, customers can also add an exclusive option pack which adds several safety systems. The pack includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure assist and automatic headlights.
